Hollywood is one of Broward's oldest cities. Many homes in Hollywood Lakes, Hollywood Hills and the neighborhoods around downtown were built between the 1920s and the 1960s, and some still have original or patched wiring, small panels and ungrounded outlets that weren't designed for today's AC and kitchen loads.
East of the Intracoastal, salt air and storm surge are the problem: exterior meter cans, disconnects and outdoor outlets corrode, and flooding can put water into equipment at ground level. In beachfront condos, we coordinate access and shutdowns with building management, day or night.
If water has reached the meter, panel or outdoor outlets after a storm or high tide, stay away from the equipment — call us, and call FPL if the damage is at the meter or service line.
We diagnose first and give you the repair price in writing before any work begins, day or night.
Safe first steps and likely causes: power out in part of the house, breaker keeps tripping, burning smell from outlet or panel, sparking or hot outlet, flickering or dimming lights, no power after a storm, buzzing or hot electrical panel, GFCI won't reset, generator won't start or transfer, EV charger tripping or not charging.
